Siddeshwar Sen

Born in 1922 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Shri Siddheshwar Sen received his initial training in the traditional theatre Mooch from Ustad Radha Krishan. He made his debut in Ujjain in 1947 and has more than six thousand performances to his credit. His group — Malav Lok Natya Mooch Mandai — was formed in 1956. Shri Siddh- eshwar Sen has travelled widely with his group, performing extensively in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana. He has also presented Mooch in the north-eastern States of Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland. He has received wide acclaim for plays written and presented by him, including Rajyogi Bharthari, Bhakta Prahlad, Pranvir Tejaji, and Ram Sita Vivah. Shri Siddheshwar Sen receives the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for his contribution to Maach theatre.
