Born on 10 September 1983 in Kolkata, West Bengal, Shrimati Moumita
Adak is a postgraduate in Environmental Science from Vidyasagar
University. She has received training in contemporary puppetry from
Shri Suresh Dutta of Calcutta Puppet Theatre, Kolkata and is now an
active member of the group. She is also a trained puppeteer in
Traditional Rod Puppetry of West Bengal – Danger Putul. She has
received audio voice training from Samaresh Ghosh and has learnt
mimicry from her father Shri Sunil Adak. Shrimati Moumita Adak is a
diploma holder in recitation, drawing and classical songs. She has also
completed Vani Certificate Course from All India Radio (2008).
Shrimati Adak has received scholarship in Drama from the Centre for
Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) from 1997-2003.
She has performed all over India as a member of the Calcutta Puppet
Shrimati Adak has been conferred the Kangal Chandra Smriti Puraskar by Satya Narayan Putul Natya Sanstha (2014).
Shrimati Moumita Adak receives the Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the year 2012 for her notable talent in puppetry.
