Yumnam Bhumeshwor Singh

Born on 13 February 1985, in Langmeidong Mamang Leikai, Manipur, Shri Yumnam Bhumeshwor Singh started learning the art of Nata Sankirtana Pung under Shri Temba Singh, Shri Thambalsang, Shri Thoiba Singh, Shri Nilachand Singh, Shri Mairembam Maniton Singh, Shri Ranit Singh, Shri Thanil Singh. Shri Yumnam Bhumeshwor Singh has performed at many venues in Manipur, across India and abroad. He has participated in the 7th Kalanidhi International Dance Festival in Canada in 2004, as lead drummer in the dance drama Pattano Pradesh produced by the Menaka Thakkar Dance Company in 2004, the Krishna Culture Fest in Hong Kong in 2008, the India Festival Moscow in 2009, and the Festival of Maha Sankirtan in Bangladesh in 2015.
Shri Yumnam Bhumeshwor Singh has been honoured by many prestigious institutions including the Tezpur University and SPIC MACAY at the Virasat Series of Manipuri Dance in 2013, the Manipur State Kala Academy in 2011, the Brahan Natyanjali Foundation, Tanjavur and South Zone Cultural Centre at the Brahan Natyanjali Dance Festival in 2010.
Shri Yumnam Bhumeshwor Singh is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for 2013-2014 for his notable talent in the field of the musical tradition Nata Sankirtana Pung.
