Jehan Maneckshaw

Born on 18 October 1974, a grandson of the illustrious Field Marshal Sam Maneckshaw, Shri Jehan Maneckshaw has a Masters in Media Global Communication, followed by a Masters in Theatre Direction from the University of London, UK. After returning to India, apart from directing plays, he has worked extensively in theatre pedagogy and theatre education.
Shri Jehan Maneckshaw has established a group called Theatre Professionals which conducts workshops for professionals and amateurs. Later, he founded The Drama School (T.D.S.) in Mumbai, which has so far trained over 60 students.
Shri Jehan Maneckshaw has taught at St Xavier's College, Mumbai, and at drama schools in Karnataka and Kerala. He created a dedicated team of young theatre teachers who are engaged in 'Theatre in Education' in more than 100 schools in 3 districts of Maharashtra. He has also produced plays in India and abroad with the Tangram Theatre Company and Wolsey Theatre. Some of the plays staged by him include Antigone, Othello, Animal Farm, Death and the Maiden, Hayavadana, and Nagamandala among others.
Shri Jehan Maneckshaw is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for 2013-2014 for his notable talent as a director.
