Born on 4 May 1981, in Rayang village, East Siang District, Arunachal
Pradesh, Shri Delong Padung, has inherited his love of the folklore of
Arunachal Pradesh from his forefathers. He has a Masters degree in
History, a Bachelors of Education as well as a Bachelors of Mass
Communication and Journalism.
Shri Delong Padung has performed the folk music of Arunachal Pradesh at many events including Arunachal Festival, Itanagar 2014; the National Mega Event Sarhad O Swaranjali, Itanagar, 2013;Pasighat Centenary; and placed first in Pratishruti a tele-competition for N.E. Doordarshan.
Shri Delong Padung has received the state award for meritorious service in the field of Culture and Entertainment from the Government of Arunachal Pradesh; conferred a commendation certificate in the field of Art and Culture by the district administration office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Siang, Pasighat, awarded the Adi Bani Kebang in the Field of Art of Culture, and was recently inducted as a Member of the National Expert Committee for the Fellowship Scheme for Folk, Traditional and Indigenous Art.
Shri Delong Padung is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for 2013-2014 for his notable talent in the field of Folk Music of Arunachal Pradesh.
