Shrimati Shilpika Bordoloi was born on 18 February 1981 at Jorhat
in Assam. She received her initial training in Manipuri Dance under
Shri Rathindra Sinha and later under Smt. Darshana Jhaveri. She
also trained in Bharatanatyam under Smt. Indira P.P. Bora and Smt.
Leela Samson. She also received her training in Tai-Ji-Quan and
Tai-kwon-do under Shri Rashid Ansari.
She has conducted seminars and workshops within the country and abroad, apart from having choreographed works, including solo short pieces as well as group full scale productions. She is currently working on a Multimedia project titled, Katha Yatra, which involves researching cultural practices prevalent along the Brahmaputra River. She is also a visiting faculty at the National School of Drama, New Delhi, and the founder of Brahmaputra Cultural Foundation.
She has performed extensively in prestigious dance festivals within the country and abroad. Some of them include the Delhi International Arts Festival, Bharat Rang Mahotsav and Attakalari festival. She has traveled to China, Japan, Russia, Italy and Switzerland to showcase her choreographic productions.
Shrimati Shilpika Bordoloi is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2015 for her notable talent in the field of Contemporary dance.
