Dhyanananda Panda

Shri Dhyanananda Panda was born on 7 July 1979 in Bhawanipatna village of Odisha. He imbibed the rich musical tradition of the region at an early age. He received formal training in folk music and dance of Kalahandi from Shri Debendra Bag. Later his skills in folk music and dance were honed under Shri Rajan Sahoo. He is a recipient of the National Scholarship and Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
Shri Dhyanananda Panda has choreographed many dance programmes, and has performed extensively in major national and international festivals in the country. His choreographic works incorporating the traditional folk elements in the folk dances and music of the region such as Singari, Banabadi, Bajasal, and Ghumra . He has to his credit a large number of recordings of tribal and folk songs of Kalahandi.
For his dedicated work in preserving and promoting folk and tribal arts of Kalahandi region, Shri Dhyana Nanda Panda has been honoured with the National Youth Award conferred by the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of India, in 2011.
Shri Dhyanananda Panda is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2015 for his notable talent in the field of Folk Dance of Odisha.
