A. K. C. Natarajan



Born on 30 May 1931 in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, Shri A.K.C. Natarajan learnt vocal music from Shri Alathur Venkat- eswara Iyer, the Nadaswaram from Shri Ellupur Natesa Pillai, and the clarionet from Shri A. K. Chinna Krishnan. Shri Natarajan presented his first major performance in 1946 and has enjoyed a highly successful concert career. He has been a staff artist with All India Radio for many years. He has a number of discs and cassettes to his credit. Shri Natarajan was honoured with his appointment as State Artiste of Tamil Nadu in 1980. Shri A. K. C. Natarajan receives the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for his contribution to Carnatic instrumental music.
